James (Jim) Woolsey, national security and energy adviser to John McCain, has advocated for plug-in hybrids and biofuels to wean the U.S. off foreign oil. Woolsey believes America must get off fossil fuels for national security reasons. Jim Woolsey served under four Presidents, most importantly as Central Intelligence Agency director during the Clinton Administration. He is a founding member of the Set America Free Coalition and serves on the board of directors of Plug In America. Woolsey stars in Thomas Friedman’s Discovery Channel documentary "Addicted to Oil" and the film "Who Killed the Electric Car?" He also penned the foreword to "50 Simple Steps to Save the Earth from Global Warming." Woolsey was a Rhodes Scholar who got his law degree from Yale Law School in 1968.
